In the 1980s, Xun Sun, a Chinese-American hotel housekeeper, encounters Zhenyi, whose background and whereabouts are a mystery, in New York. There seems to be a shared connection between them, prompting Xun Sun to leave resolutely when faced with anti-Chinese sentiment, searching for what the strange phenomena after meeting Zhenyi point to.

For them, the ultimate homecoming doesn't equate to their birthplace; each carries an inward nostalgia, needing to redefine their personal constellation through all their life experiences and insights.
